Shop Local: support Independent Retailer Month

Independent Retailer Month logoIndependent Retailer Month

July is Independent Retailer Month so it’s a good time to give a plug to the shops in Leytonstone.

As well as many large well-known high street chains Leytonstone has a wealth of independent traders in the town centre, the length of the High Road, as well as tucked away in residential areas such as Grove Green Road and Colworth Road.

I’ve rewritten the shopping pages on this website to make them easier to find, with a new Shopping page on the top menu now. Take a look at some of what Leytonstone has to offer and support your local traders!

If you are a local trader have a look at the Independent Retailer Month page and see what free resources you can tap into to help promote your business in July.

Please help me promote www.leytonstonetoday.net

Leytonstone Banner 5 horizontal V3Regular users of this site will have spotted that I recently gave it the name www.leytonstonetoday.net.

I had hoped to use something simpler with just ‘Leytonstone’ but they were all taken, though ‘Leytonstone Today’ summarises what the site is about: giving people an up to date view of what it’s like to live in Leytonstone after the huge number of changes that have happened in the last few years, and keeping people informed about events in the community.

But ‘Leytonstone Today’ is much harder to get up the Google and other search engine rankings. If you search under ‘Leytonstone’ at the moment you won’t find the site. If you search under ‘Leytonstone Today’ or ‘Leytonstone’ plus other subjects that are covered by the site, increasingly it is visible.

So I would really appreciate it if you would link to this site from your own website or social media pages and encourage others to do so, as external links are one of the factors search engines use. This won’t just help this site but that many other sites in Leytonstone that are in turn linked from here.

The direct link is http://www.leytonstonetoday.net (you may have to paste it in as http://www.leytonstonetoday.net, depending on how your site handles links). If you already have the site linked or bookmarked under the old address https://leytonstonelondone11.wordpress.com, don’t worry, the old address will still work.

I have also produced some graphics to promote this website. Please feel free to download them and add them to your website, but some will also work well in other media such as Outlook email footers, in Word newsletters, on PowerPoint slides.

All material provided on this website is for free, nobody is charged for being linked or for an advertisement, so I am not making any personal gain from this.
